Looking for some Halloween fun in New York City? Here are some suggestions for upcoming events to celebrate the spookiest time of the year. 

For kids

Pumpkin Flotilla: Halloween on the Harlem Meer

On Wednesday, Oct. 30, head to Central Park for the annual Pumpkin Flotilla. There will be fun activities before the sun sets where you can watch the Harlem Meer light up with floating pumpkins. Learn more.

Frights & Fiesta: A Halloween & Día de los Muertos Bash

Head to the Queens Center Mall for a fun Halloween trivia event on October 30. There will also be a costume contest and fun giveaways. Learn more.

Big Halloween Get Down

On October 31, Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy is hosting a Halloween dance party for all ages. Kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Learn more.

‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ light trail 

Head to the New York Botanical Garden through November 30 for this fun light trail. See your favorite characters from “Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas”  come to life among the foliage. Learn more.

The Village Halloween Parade 

On Halloween, head to the annual Village Halloween Parade on Sixth Ave from Canal St to 15th St. The parade starts at Canal Street and Sixth Avenue and goes up Sixth Avenue and 15th Street. You can either choose to just watch or be a part of the fun. Learn more.

Bed-Stuy Dreams: The Haunting – A Herbert Von King Cultural Arts Center Haunted House

The Von King Cultural Arts Center is hosting a Halloween haunted house on October 30. The event is free and open to the public. Learn more.

There are lots of events for adults who want to have Halloween fun without children.

Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Tonightmares’

This haunted maze experience at Rockefeller Center lets you see inside Jimmy Fallon’s nightmares. From a mad scientist to murder robots, experience ten rooms of fright and thrills. Runs through October 31. Learn more.

Madame Morbid’s Trolley Tours

Interested in taking a ghost tour through Brooklyn? Visit spooky sites while riding in a Victorian trolley. These dark history and true-crime trolley tours run through the end of November. Learn more.

Visit a bar decked out for Halloween
