Two Francis Lewis High School students in Queens have taken to their student news website and the New York Post to talk about the dangers NYC students currently face commuting to school each day. Lorelei Pagen, a junior, and Zoe Ntouvas, a sophomore, published an article highlighting the fear many teenagers now face following several shootings, including a drive-by in April where several Francis Lewis students were injured at a nearby shopping area. 

Sadly, walking to school is not the only danger for students. Pagen and Ntouvas also highlight the uptick in violence on public transportation. Just last month a 15-year-old boy was shot to death on an A train in Far Rockaway. Read more.
