Talkspace has launched a new initiative called TeenSpace to provide free online therapy for New York City teens. Youth ages 13 to 17 will have access to Talkspace’s services at no cost. The initiative was launched by the Adams’ administration and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
So how does it work? Teens can choose one-on-one support or online exercises. They will then answer questions and be paired with a therapist or given a recommendation for an online mental health program. The therapists can be messaged as often as needed, and teens can get one video call per month. The service is completely free and teens do not have to have health insurance. Learn more here.
