After a data breach in 2022, the New York Department of Education has found itself yet again issuing a letter to families as the personal info of around 45,000 students has been compromised. This time, the breach comes from the file transfer software MOVEit. The information compromised includes “social security numbers, birth dates and certain student evaluations, though the specific types of data breached varies per student,” according to Gothamist. Those affected will receive notices this summer.
