"Desi Fusion Cargo Set" (2024)

This week we welcome Dhvani Mashru, a multidisciplinary visual artist and fashion designer whose work merges bold color, cultural fusion and queer expression. Drawing from both South Asian and Western aesthetics, their art and fashion pieces challenge heteronormative narratives and center queer identities. Dhvani’s use of vivid color enhances their storytelling, creating visually striking works that celebrate self-expression, fluidity and resistance.

“Desi Disco Diva” (2025)

“I am a multidisciplinary visual artist and fashion designer whose work explores queerness, cultural duality and self-expression through form and color. Drawing from both South Asian and Western visual traditions, I create pieces that challenge heteronormative standards and center queer identities — often through bold silhouettes, vivid palettes, and layered symbolism. My practice is rooted in the belief that art and fashion can be powerful tools for resistance, storytelling and joy. Whether through wearable art or visual media, I strive to create work that holds space for fluidity, contradiction and the unapologetic beauty of being fully seen.”

“Genderless Fashion” (2025)

Dhavni’s fashion brand, House of D Dog was recently invited to participate in Paris and Milan Fashion week. They have started a GoFundMe campaign to help with production and travel costs, which Epicenter will be supporting with an honorarium.

“Ethereal Lehriya Set” (2024)

Check out more of Dhvani’s work on their two Instagram feeds for fashion and visual art.
