This week we’ve got a summary of our experience bringing the work of eight artists from the Epicenter files to the Satellite Art Show in Miami, where we curated the exhibition “Heat of the Moment” during Art Basel / Miami Art Week in early December.

Our curatorial team assembled a fantastic selection of works (you can see them here) that call attention to the fragility of coastal areas such as South Florida. The artists, their works, and the entire show signal, among other things, the need to raise awareness about our climate crisis and act responsibly for a stable future.

It was an absolute sprint and a logistical challenge but it was rewarding to be able to give the artists we work with this level of visibility at what is arguably the largest and most visible annual art event in the world. Satellite is an artist-run fair that does away with many of the conventions of corporate-backed fairs to create more space for free expression and prioritize accessibility.

We had great foot traffic and lots of positive feedback. We were grateful to be joined one night by the virtuosic violin duo of Arun Ramamurthy and Trina Basu, who gave a stunning performance in collaboration with Nitin Mukul’s work, which you can listen to here

Epicenter looks forward to continuing to expand our arts programming in 2025!
