Looking for an affordable apartment in Brooklyn? New housing lotteries in Brownsville and Prospect Heights are available for a wide range of incomes.
For the Brownsville opportunity, that means rent for some units could start at $545 if you make between $22,492 and $34,020. You can snag an affordable apartment there if you make up to $140,630.
And for the Prospect Heights lottery, rent for some units starts at $844 if you make between $34,492 and $45,360, and you can qualify for an affordable apartment if you make up to $227,500.
Together, the lotteries for the chance to rent an apartment include dozens of studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments at these new buildings. Here’s what to know before the deadlines.

This housing lottery for Prosper Brooklyn, a newly built development on Atlantic Avenue, is closing soon. The building is near shopping centers and accessible by the A, C, 2, 3, 4, 5 and G trains and the Franklin Ave. shuttle.
Amenities for Prosper Brooklyn are more upscale than what many city lotteries typically offer at this income range, and include a game room, movie theater, coworking lounge, outdoor courtyards, zen garden, pilates room, a sauna with a cold plunge pool and a pickleball court.
With a pet-washing station also on the list, the building allows two pets with a total weight limit of 50 pounds (for a refundable $300 deposit).
